Mission
Statement
Our goal is to recognize filmmakers whose short films demonstrate
their ability to produce well-crafted motion pictures.
We are proud to announce that we are a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non‐profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Southern Shorts Awards must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” and are tax‐deductible to the extent permitted by law.
What sets us apart from the thousands of other festivals out there is that our festival was made by filmmakers for filmmakers. But don't take our word for it. Listen to the filmmakers who have actually screened at our festivals.
(Disclaimer: Cast & Crew only receive awards if they are nominated and score a minimum aggregate score of 7 out of 10 from all three judges.)
